Today started normally enough, but got very different, very quickly. In a nutshell, my wife's car lost brakes on the way to take my son to school, and I was awakened an hour after I went to sleep. After somewhat dealing with the situation, I couldn't get back to sleep which I knew was going to impact the day, because I was originally only going to get about 5 hours anyway. There were many things to get done, and some did and some didn't. I took about a 4 hour nap mid-afternoon and I am now fully awake again after midnight. I have excluded a lot of details for a reason. That reason being it was a tough, challenging, touch-and-go day, but I was alive to see it! And so was everyone I know who saw yesterday come and go! One day, I will have to deal with more than loss of sleep, time or money... one day I will have to deal with the loss of everyone I know or they will have to deal with the loss of me. But either way, that day was not today!
I want everyone to just stay encouraged and delighting yourself in the Lord. The Lord knows our problems, our conditions, our fears. He knows our desires, ambitions and attachments. He knows we have weaknesses and imperfections. His goal is to get us to know He is bigger than all that. Ephesians 3:20 starts "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think..." and that is the precise knowledge He wants us to come to.
Proverbs 3:
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
There are tons of lines of scripture we could put upon other lines to prove the case that God wants us healthy and happy even in the face of unhappy situations. But the question is will we believe (By Live = Live By) it? Will you believe it today??? Live It UP!!!
